Mukomuko Starts Providing COVID-19 Vaccines For Pregnant Women As Of Today Saturday 4 September 2021

JAKARTA - The Health Office of Mukomuko Regency, Bengkulu Province, Saturday, began to provide COVID-19 vaccine to pregnant women as protection from contracting the new corona virus.

"We have started carrying out this COVID-19 vaccination in accordance with the instructions from the Ministry of Health since August 2, 2021, in Mukomuko today," said Acting Head of the Mukomuko District Health Office, Syafriadi, in his statement in Mukomuko, Saturday.

He said this after attending the launch of the mass vaccination program for pregnant women, which was centered at the Air District Health Center.

His party held this event to socialize the vaccination program for pregnant women in Air Manjuto District.

"That's why we held the event earlier, we socialized it to pregnant women, we also provided counseling with the Obstetrics and Gynecology Doctors Association in this area to provide understanding regarding the safety of this vaccine," he said.

In addition, the examination of pregnant women by an obstetrician specialist is to provide stability for pregnant women related to the safety of the COVID-19 vaccine.

"We assure pregnant women, those who have undergone COVID-19 vaccination can be an example for other pregnant women, then this activity will run smoothly," he said.

He said the area had started vaccination for pregnant women at the Air Manjuto Health Center with a target of at least 70 people.

After this, he said, 17 puskesmas in this area will carry out vaccinations for pregnant women in their respective areas.

"Each puskesmas in this area has a target for pregnant women who receive the COVID-19 vaccine and the target number for each puskesmas in this area is different," he said.

He targeted all pregnant women whose gestational age from 13 to 33 weeks in this area received the COVID-19 vaccine.
