Riding A Motorbike Cart, Members Of The Sukoharjo Police Distribute Vegetables To Residents' Houses
SUKOARJO – As one of the efforts to reduce the rate of COVID-19, the Sukoharjo Police distributed social assistance (bansos) in the form of vegetables to underprivileged communities affected by the pandemic in Tawangsari District, Sukoharjo Regency, Central Java.
Using a gabion motorbike, the Sukjoharjo Police Chief AKBP Wahyu Nugroho Setyawan, together with members of the Sukoharjo Police Wan and Tawangsari Police, distributed around door to door distributing plastic packages filled with vegetables.
The Police Chief said that this social assistance distribution activity was a form of Polri's concern in helping the community face the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Indeed, what we provide does not immediately replace all the needs of the community, but hopefully with this assistance the community will be helped a little in dealing with this pandemic," said Sukjoharjo Police Chief AKBP Wahyu Nugroho Setyawan, Saturday, September 4.
In the social assistance, continued the Police Chief, 150 packages of basic necessities were distributed containing rice, oil, vegetables and fruits.
"So we are working with the Farmers Group from Tawangsari to buy vegetables and fruits, for us to share with the community," he said.
"Hopefully this activity can ease the burden on the community. At the same time, it can help the wheels of the economy for our brothers and sisters in dealing with this pandemic," he added.
AKBP Wahyu continued, in addition to distributing social assistance, his party also reminded residents to be able to participate in vaccinations, and always comply with health protocols using the 5M method, (wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance, reducing mobility, and staying away from crowds).
"This is solely to stop the spread of COVID-19. And I hope this pandemic will end soon," he concluded.
