Apindo Manufacturing Industry Chairman Johnny Darmawan Says No More COVID-19 Clusters Found In Factories

JAKARTA - The Chairman of the Apindo Manufacturing Industry Johnny Darmawan said that maintaining health protocols in the industry is one of the strategies of the business world in adjusting the government's attitude regarding the handling of COVID-19 as an endemic disease.

"Currently we have started to adjust by maintaining health protocols in the industry, so there are no more COVID-19 clusters in factories. That is one of the strategies we are doing to adapt," said Johnny Darmawan, quoted from Antara, Saturday, September 4.

According to Johnny, the existence of the Industrial Activity Mobility and Operational Permit (IOMKI) format issued by the Ministry of Industry is one of the keys so that domestic industries can continue to operate by implementing prokes.

Johnny assessed that IOMKI was very effective in suppressing the spread of COVID-19 cases in manufacturing factories, even contributing to the handling of the pandemic.

The former President Director of Toyota realized that the COVID-19 pandemic did not occur in a short time, so businessmen needed to adapt immediately.

He added, the implementation of industry 4.0 in Indonesia also made the industrial sector able to adopt technology in its manufacturing operations.

The use of technology, according to him, is also considered capable of being an alternative to suppress the spread of COVID-19 in various industrial sectors in the country.
