Based on information from the Bambu Apus TPU Satpel, previously the funeral of COVID-19 bodies reached 50 bodies per day. Currently, the average number of COVID-19 bodies buried is only 2 people per day.

"Yes, a drastic decrease. Now there are only 1 to 2 COVID-19 bodies per day. In the past, it could reach 50 COVID-19 bodies per day," said the Head of the TPU Bambu Apus Implementing Unit (Kasatpel) Koko when contacted by reporters, Saturday, September 4. morning.

According to Koko, the number of funerals reaching 50 bodies per day occurred in February 2021. However, in August 2021, the high number of COVID-19 bodies began to decline.

"The highest number will be in February 2021. August starts to swell, so around 2 to 4 bodies decrease per day," he said.

Based on the data collected, the total number of graves for COVID-19 victims at TPU Bambu Apus, East Jakarta, is 1,843 graves. This number has been since the opening of the Bambu Apus TPU as a burial place for COVID-19 bodies since January 22, 2021.

From the availability of a special land for the COVID-19 cemetery covering an area of 1 hectare at the Bambu Apus TPU, 7,000 of which have been used for the burial of COVID-19 bodies.

"The remaining land is only 3000 meters with a capacity to accommodate the remaining 800 empty tombs," he said.
