Be Careful, BMKG Weather Forecast Heavy Rain And Strong Winds Will Hit Parts Of Indonesia

JAKARTA - Before traveling, it's a good idea to first listen to the weather forecast from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG). BMKG predicts the potential for heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds in several areas in Indonesia, Saturday, September 4.

Reporting from the www.bmkg.go.id page, the situation is predicted to hit the regions of West Sumatra, Bengkulu, Jambi, South Sumatra, Lampung, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, Maluku, North Maluku, Papua and the West Papua region.

The potential for rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds is also predicted in North Kalimantan, South Kalimantan and North Sulawesi.

BMKG appealed to people around the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) area to remain vigilant because it is estimated that there is the potential for strong winds.

Meanwhile, sunny and cloudy weather is forecasted in various major cities in Indonesia, including Banda Aceh, Denpasar, Serang, Yogyakarta, Central Jakarta, Gorontalo, Bandung, Semarang, Surabaya, Samarinda, Tarakan, Tanjung Pinang, Mataram, Kupang and Jayapura.

However, light and moderate rain is also forecasted in several cities, such as Medan, Palembang, Padang, Manado, Kendari, Makassar, Mamuju, Pekan Baru, Manokwari, Ambon, Palangkaraya, Banjarmasin, Pontianak, Jambi and Bengkulu.

The temperature situation in big cities on average ranges from 22 to 35 degrees Celsius with humidity levels ranging from 45 to 100 percent.
