NTB Police Receive Complaints Of Alleged Corruption In COVID-19 Budget Management

JAKARTA - The Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation of the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police received a complaint regarding the management of the COVID-19 handling budget.

Dirreskrimsus Polda NTB Kombes Pol I Gusti Putu Gede Ekawana in Mataram, Friday, confirmed the receipt of the report.

However, Ekawana was reluctant to reveal the contents of the incoming report because it relates to the case material that will be included in the investigation process.

"Yes, so for the next, we will follow up," he said as quoted by Antara, Saturday, September 4.

According to information, the report submitted to the NTB Regional Police on Thursday, September 2, relates to allegations of corruption in budget management at the NTB Health Office.

There is an allegation that the report is part of a follow-up to the findings of BPK RI amounting to Rp. 2.32 billion in the management of the NTB Province COVID-19 handling budget for the 2020 fiscal year.

The findings include the use of tax facilities for the procurement of goods and services that are not in accordance with the provisions of three regional apparatus organizations (OPD), namely the NTB Provincial Hospital, the NTB Provincial Health Office, and the HL Manambai Abdul Kadir Hospital.

The potential state losses that arise are related to tax payments. Likewise in the payment of work fees for consulting service personnel, planning, reviewing Detail Engineering Design (DED) and periodic supervision of COVID-19 services.

There are also findings that appear in the recess I and II accountability reports at the NTB Provincial DPRD Secretariat.
