Caring For Burglars Arrested, Deputy Governor Of DKI Reminds Citizens: Don't Try To Find Fake Vaccine Certificates

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria warned residents not to look for fake COVID-19 vaccination certificates. Because the action is against the law and will definitely be exposed.

This was conveyed by Riza in response to the case of an employee of Kapuk Muara Village who was named a suspect in the case of breaking into the PeduliLindung application data in order to issue fake vaccination certificates.

Not only that, those who ordered fake vaccination certificates were also named as suspects.

"We ask all citizens, anyone who has not been vaccinated, immediately vaccinate. Those who have not been vaccinated, don't try to get around it, look for fake certificates because they will definitely be caught. The system is integrated," said Riza at City Hall, Friday, September 3.

Riza asked all parties, especially government employees in charge of administering vaccinations, not to imitate the abuse of authority.

"For them, anyone, including the employee who tried to break into it, we will pursue, we will arrest and we will give sanctions because it is a bad act," said Riza.

For information, the Polda Metro Jaya arrested a perpetrator of the PeduliLindung application data breach, the perpetrator who sold fake vaccination certificates, and two people who ordered the certificate. These four people were named as suspects.

The PeduliLindung burglar, with the initials HH, was fired from a non-PNS employee at Kapuk Muara Village, Penjaringan, North Jakarta. Previously, he worked in the administrative department for four years.

"We have dismissed him as of September 2. He was dismissed because of his criminal case," said Head of Muara Kapuk Head Jason Simanjuntak.

For their actions, the suspects are threatened with 6 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 600 million rupiah. As referred to in Article 30 of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning information and electronic transactions (ITE).

As well as being suspected of violating Law 32 Number 19 of 2016 concerning people who intentionally and without rights violate the law in any way change, add, reduce, repeat transmission, hide electronic information and or electronic documents belonging to other people or public property.
