Governor Emil Highlights Crowds In Puncak And Bandung Areas, Will Raid Restaurants That Violate PPKM
BANDUNG - West Java Governor M Ridwan Kamil said there were indications of euphoria from the community along with the declining emergency rate of COVID-19 cases.
This, said Kang Emil, his nickname, can be seen from the abundance of tourist attraction areas in Puncak Bogor, and other tourist attraction areas in the West Java region such as Greater Bandung.
"So there are indeed indications of euphoria, there are two, namely the Puncak Area, DU (Bandung) and others," said Ridwan Kamil at a virtual press conference in Bandung quoted by Antara, Friday, September 3.
The improving condition of the COVID-19 pandemic in West Java can be seen from the occupancy rate of the COVID-19 referral hospital, now at 15 percent and active cases at 16,000.
In fact, continued Ridwan Kamil, the level of risk of Covid-19 transmission in regencies/cities is generally now at level 3 or moderate and a number of regencies/cities have entered the level 2 category or with a low level of risk of COVID-19 transmission.
"This should not reduce vigilance against COVID-19," said Ridwan Kamil.
To prevent euphoria, his party has prepared a number of anticipatory measures, such as implementing an odd-even policy (vehicle license plates) starting from Friday to Sunday.
"There will also be raids for restaurants and cafes that do not meet the quota restrictions," he said.
"So basically public activities have begun to be opened with caution. The spirit is how economic, social, cultural activities, including education are opened proportionally with restrictions," he continued.
