Bus Driver Repairing Engine, Survived When He Was Hit By A Truck
JAKARTA - An accident occurred between an inter-city inter-provincial bus (AKAP) and a Tronton truck on the JORR Kilometer 35.20 Toll Road, Cipayung District, East Jakarta. The accident occurred on the route from Kampung Rambutan to Bekasi.
The accident occurred when the AKAP bus was stopped on the shoulder of the road due to an engine repair. Some of the bus passengers got out of the car while the engine repair was being carried out. But some of them were on the bus.
Suddenly from behind came a Tronton truck that was going quite fast. The Tronton hit the back of the bus, causing some of the bus material to break and bounce.
As a result of the accident, two people were injured. One victim from the passenger and one from the bus driver.
"I was hit by a truck from behind. Thank God, when the bus was hit I was outside", said Herman, one of the bus passengers to reporters at the location, Friday, September 3.
Herman said, there were two victims as a result of this accident.
"The victims were the passengers and the driver. The driver was seriously injured. This bus is heading for Lahat - Bekasi", he said.
Surprisingly, the bus driver who was repairing the engine in the rear did not suffer a direct impact from the truck that hit him in the back.
PO bus employee Jimmy admitted that there were no fatalities as a result of this incident.
"There were no fatalities. The victim was immediately taken to the hospital. At the time of the incident, there were still passengers on the bus", he said.
