JAKARTA – MSA who claimed to have received unpleasant treatment in the KPI office environment attracted the attention of criminologist Budi Luhur Lucky Nurhadiyanto. According to Lucky's observation, if later the legal process proves that the perpetrator is indeed right as stated by the victim, then law enforcement officers must give strict sanctions.

Lucky thinks that what makes the victim dare to reveal the events she has experienced to the public is no longer a matter of profit or loss, but comfort to relieve trauma. Therefore, Lucky hopes that law enforcement officers can take a firm stance, revealing the facts. And if it is proven, according to Lucky, the perpetrators must be severely punished.

“The stakes are no longer profit and loss, but comfort and feelings of trauma are removed. We often ignore that these victims could be the next perpetrators. Then this opportunity must be closed, the effect that occurs gives severe sanctions so as not to create the next monsters." Lucky said.

Looking more deeply, what prompted the reported (alleged perpetrator) to commit the harassment, Lucky saw from a micro scale, that there were parties who dominated from among the weak, or new people who entered his circle.

"In the context of criminology, we think of conflicts on a micro level, where there are parties who dominate the juniors or "inferior" parties. Well, often inferior (low self-esteem, red) is a target, so the target of bullying. Then there is a shift in definition. Definition, whether it's a proper deed or not." Lucky told VOI Thursday 2 September evening.

In this case, Lucky believes that victims of bullying are often considered weak or low self-esteem, so they become targets for people who dominate.

“Those who can become worthy targets of victimization and inhumane treatment are people who are considered weak, new or younger people, or people who have moved. So that the actions carried out by the major are considered right, or considered as pseudo culture, or considered as things that are institutionalized. That's what you have to get if you want to enter here the first time." said Lucky.

Meanwhile, Central Jakarta Metro Police Deputy Chief AKBP Setyo stated, based on the results of the investigation conducted by the Central Jakarta Police on Wednesday, August 1, against MSA, the alleged perpetrators would be charged with multiple layers of articles.

"They will be charged with Articles 289 and 281 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with 335, namely obscene acts and crimes against decency accompanied by threats to the person concerned," he told reporters, Thursday, August 2, evening.

However, AKBP Setyo said the application of the article was still limited to conjecture.
