Unkris Clashes, Police Chase 15 Ormas Members Who Run Away

JAKARTA - Metro Bekasi Police Chief Kombes Aloysius Suprijadi said his party was still conducting an in-depth investigation of 15 members of mass organizations involved in the clashes at the Krisnadwipaya University (Unkris) Campus, Jalan Jariwaringin, Pondok Gede District, Bekasi City, a few days ago.

Police investigators are still exploring the role of each perpetrator so there is no impression of wrongful arrest.

"It's still being investigated, from here it says this and that says that. So investigators are still investigating not to get caught wrong. The confiscated evidence contained machetes and stones," he said when confirmed by reporters, Friday, September 3.

The Bekasi City Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit is also still pursuing several other people who were involved in the clashes.

"Members are still making efforts to arrest the perpetrators who have not yet been arrested. There is no DPO yet, but we are still pursuing and investigating (the perpetrators)," he said.

The police chief stated that the roles of the 15 people who had been arrested were different.

"Who does what, throws, stabs, carries a knife, it must all have a clear role. So that later they can go up to the investigation," he said.

However, the Chief of Police said that the location of the incident was in a safe condition. The Bekasi City Police joint apparatus anticipates further incidents by deploying a number of personnel.

"At the location we place officers to guard the location so that it is conducive to keeping it safe. Currently it is under control, it is quiet. (cause) the rectorate's internal problems," said Kombes Aloysius.
