Conglomerate Chairul Tanjung Owns 5 Banks, If Combined Profits Soar 42 Percent To IDR 2.02 Trillion In Semester I 2021
JAKARTA - PT Mega Corpora scored a brilliant performance in the first semester of 2021. The company belongs to the conglomerate Chairul Tanjung. Mega Corpora's net profit was recorded at Rp2.02 trillion as of June 30, 2021, growing 42.70 percent year-on-year (yoy).
In Mega Corpora's financial report published on the information disclosure page of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), quoted Friday, September 3, the profit growth of the CT Corp boss company was supported by interest income which rose 3.28 percent yoy to Rp5.82 trillion. In addition, premium income also rose 10.76 percent yoy to Rp530.25 billion.
The increase pushed operating income to grow 0.63 percent yoy to Rp7.60 trillion. On the other hand, the company was able to reduce operating expenses so that it fell 7.15 percent yoy to Rp5.30 trillion. From there, operating profit grew 24.72 percent yoy to Rp2.30 trillion.
With five subsidiaries in the banking business, Mega Corpora recorded that loans grew 10.45 percent year to date (ytd) to Rp58.99 trillion. In terms of fundraising, Mega Corpora recorded deposits from customers growing 9.19 percent ytd to Rp94.86 trillion.
Meanwhile, Mega Corpora has total assets of Rp. 149.10 trillion as of June 30, 2021, or an increase of 8.33 percent from the position at the end of December last year of Rp. 137.63 trillion.
Mega Corpora is a subholding of CT Corpora owned by conglomerate Chairul Tanjung, for the financial sector. The Company has 14 subsidiaries, of which five are engaged in the banking business. They are PT Bank Mega Tbk, PT Bank Mega Syariah, PT Bank SulutGo, PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Sulawesi Tengah, and PT Allo Bank Indonesia Tbk.
The other subsidiaries are PT Mega Capital Sekuritas, PT Asuransi Umum Mega, PT Mega Finance. Then, PT Mega Auto Finance, PT Mega Central Finance. Next, PT Mega Asset Management, PT PFI Mega Life Insurance, PT Digital Payment System, and PT Mega Capital Investama.
