Do You Remember Frederich Yunadi, Former Lawyer For Setnov Who Was Obstructing The KPK? MA Rejects PK Proposed
JAKARTA - The Supreme Court (MA) rejected the judicial review (PK) requested by lawyer Frederich Yunadi in the case of obstructing the examination of former DPR Speaker Setya Novanto in the electronic-ID corruption case.
"Decision: Reject," said the Supreme Court's website, which was viewed in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Thursday, September 2.
The PK decision was taken by the PK panel of judges, namely Eddy Army, Ansori and Suhadi and decided on September 1, 2021.
The PK application with registration number 294 PK/Pid.Sus/2021 was submitted by Rudy Marjono as the applicant's attorney for Frederich Yunadi on June 18, 2021.
Previously, based on the Supreme Court's cassation decision on March 23, 2019, the Supreme Court increased the sentence of advocate Fredrich Yunadi to 7.5 years in prison plus a fine of IDR 500 million, subsidiary to 8 months in prison.
Meanwhile, in the appeal decision taken by the appeals panel at the Jakarta High Court on October 9 2018, Fredrich Yunadi was still sentenced to 7 years in prison plus a fine of IDR 500 million, subsidiary of 5 months. The appeal decision confirmed the decision of the first instance court of the Jakarta Corruption Court on June 28, 2018, which sentenced Fredrich to 7 years in prison plus a fine of Rp. 500 million, subsidiary to 5 months in prison.
However, the verdict was lower than the demands of the KPK Public Prosecutor (JPU) who demanded that Fredrich be sentenced to 12 years in prison plus a fine of Rp600 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison.
As Setya Novanto's lawyer, Fredrich was proven to have suggested that Setya Novanto not need to come to meet the summons of KPK investigators on the grounds that the process of summoning DPR members must have permission from the President and that Setya Novanto should conduct a judicial review to the Constitutional Court.
