New To School, 2 Vocational High School Students In Semarang Brawl

SEMARANG - A brawl between students of two vocational schools in Semarang City colored the implementation of face-to-face learning (PTM) on the fourth day in the capital city of Central Java.

Dozens of students from SMKN 3 and SMKN 4 Semarang were involved in attacking each other with sharp weapons around Taman Indonesia Kaya Semarang.

The Head of Operations for the Semarang Polrestabes AKBP Recky Robertho said that his party had arrested nine students from two schools after the brawl.

"After receiving the report, the officers immediately combed around the location. Nine people were arrested," he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, September 2.

In that incident, he said, one student was reportedly injured by a sharp weapon and had to be hospitalized.

Recky admitted that he did not yet know the trigger for the brawl that occurred a few days after the school held face-to-face learning.

"The nine people who were arrested are still being investigated for their involvement in this brawl," he said.

He said officers would also continue to patrol to prevent further brawls.
