The EHang 216 is made by Guangzhou EHang Intelligent Technology Co. Ltd. based in China. The EHang 216 is a flying car of the Autonomous Aerial Vehicle (AAV) type. On the other hand, the EHang can also be called a giant drone equipped with 16 propellers in its 8 foldable arms.
Not much different from camera-carrying drones, this AAV can take off and land vertically. So it doesn't really need such a big runway. EHang 216 only requires 5 meters of space to be a parking space.
For information, EHang is not driven directly by the driver, but is controlled through a control center on the mainland. This flying car is equipped with a battery that can be fully charged in one hour.
In addition, the EHang 216 is also capable of carrying a payload of 220 kg. The flying car can travel 130 km per hour and its altitude is 3,000 m. The EHang 216 is only 5.6 meters wide by 1.7 meters high and can carry as many as two passengers.
The EHang 216 is equipped with autonomous technology which is claimed to be able to minimize operating failures caused by human error. The flying car uses 4G and 5G networks as a wireless transmission channel as a means of communication with the control center. The EHang flying car is said to be able to be used as a means of transportation as well as a means of transporting logistics.
