JAKARTA - The National Police has destroyed various types of drugs as a result of disclosure by an Iranian international network. This drug syndicate uses the mode of importing dates to Indonesia.

National Police Chief General Idham Aziz revealed that in the disclosure of this case, as many as 1.2 tons of crystal meth, 35 thousand ecstasy pills and 410 kg of marijuana were confiscated and destroyed.

In this case, the police named seven people as suspects. Three of them are the colors of the Iranian state with the initials HSR, MSR and AN, as well as a Pakistani citizen with the initials SM.

"The method is to import dates and areca nuts from Pakistan and Iran," said Idham in Jakarta, Thursday, July 2.

This international drug smuggling network was revealed after the police successfully arrested several suspects in Serang, Banten and Sukabumi, West Java.

In addition, the Head of Criminal Investigation of the National Police, Komjen Listyo Sigit, said that the disclosure began when there was information about one of the companies, PT Alam Mahwan Sejahtera, which was suspected of carrying out narcotics smuggling.

From this information, investigators began to trace the company's activities and background. Apparently, the results of the investigation found two names who were narcotics case recidivists.

"In the company there are the names of the US and the HSR of Iranian citizens who were both detained at Banceuy Detention Center, Bandung in connection with narcotics cases," said Listyo.

In addition, from the information obtained, it is also said that there will be pickup of goods at the end of June. So, investigators continue to dig about these items.

"The goods will be sent by Iranian ship to the KM Walie in the Pelabuhan Ratu area. That's where we dismantled the distribution syndicate," said Listyo.

Many times escaped

Based on the results of investigations and investigations, this syndicate has repeatedly smuggled drugs to Indonesia. It was recorded that on January 29, they managed to smuggle 140 packs of crystal methamphetamine, all of which had been distributed.

Then, in May 2020, this syndicate returned to order hundreds of crystal meth packages. Where, the delivery will occur in June and the police have caught.

"The suspect again ordered 404 packs of methamphetamine-type narcotics which were transacted through the Indian Ocean and successfully secured," he said.

Thus, as accountability for their actions, the suspects are subject to Article 114 paragraph 2 subsidiary to Article 115 paragraph 1 subsidiary to Article 112 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 132 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics. The suspects face a maximum sentence of death.
