Join The Coalition, PAN Promises To Be Serious In Running Government Programs To Overcome The COVID Pandemic
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the National Mandate Party (PAN) DPP Viva Yoga Mauladi stated that his party is ready to carry out government programs, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This was said by Viva regarding PAN's plan after joining the coalition supporting the Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin government.
"Currently, we must help so that the COVID-19 pandemic ends soon and the program to accelerate the national economic recovery can run accelerated. So that we can live a normal life again, open employment opportunities, and increase people's purchasing power," said Viva to VOI, Thursday, 2 September.
PAN promised with the coalition political parties to seriously succeed in the government's program and serve the people of Indonesia.
"PAN together with the coalition of government parties will seriously carry out all government programs and serve the people," he said.
Previously, Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Zulkifli Hasan revealed his party's role as a bridge between Muslims and the government. Because, there is an impression that the government is far from Muslims. In fact, according to him, this assumption is not true.
"There must be a bridge. There is a solidarity maker. There is an impression that the government is partly, far from Islam. I said no, it is also possible for some to disagree, it's called democracy," said Zulkifli when opening the National Working Meeting (Rakernas) II PAN, Tuesday , August 31.
"What is the evidence? The proof is that Mr. Jokowi chose his vice president, the number one Islamic figure, Kiai Ma'ruf Amin, the chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council," he continued.
The next reason, the government chose Islamic figures to join the cabinet. Zulkifli gave an example, Mahfud MD, who served as Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Security.
"Pak Mahfud MD is a Muslim scholar, KAHMI figure, Islamic Student Association (HMI) right? That's the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, his position is not arbitrary," said Zulkifli.
Besides Mahfud, Zulkifli also mentioned Muhadjir Effendy, a Muhammadiyah figure who became the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK).
Therefore, he is of the view, the government is surrounded by Islamic figures. Thus it is not true that the government is far from Muslims.
Zulkifli further said that the government listened to the aspirations of PAN as an open Islam-based party. So, PAN will take on the role of a bridge between the government and Muslims.
"Our opinions are also heard. Therefore, we want this PAN to be able to bridge the obstacles. Hopefully, it's called a business. We are one countryman," said Zulkifli.
