Successfully Conducting OTT, KPK Appreciates Probolinggo Community Support

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) appreciates the support of the people of Probolinggo Regency in the Operation Catch the Hand (OTT) which succeeded in ensnaring 22 people as suspects, including the Regent of Probolinggo Puput Tantriana Sari and member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the NasDem faction Hasan Aminuddin.

"KPK is grateful for the support from all parties, especially the people of Probolinggo, in the arrest activity which took place in the early hours of Sunday, August 29, 2021," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Sector Ali Fikri, quoted on Thursday, September 2.

He said community support is very important for the KPK so that the eradication of corruption through various sectors such as prevention and anti-corruption education can be carried out optimally.

In addition, the arrest of the Regent of Probolinggo and her husband, Hasan Aminuddin, can serve as a reminder that corruption often occurs. So to stop it, the KPK cannot work alone.

"This incident also serves as a reminder that corruption is still common around us. From small to large scale, with various modes and perpetrators," said Ali.

"The crime of corruption is so complex and has a domino effect, we must stop it together. The KPK cannot work alone. Community involvement is a necessity," he added.

The KPK, said Ali, believes that joint steps with community elements will make the eradication of corruption stronger in the future. "And can continue to provide tangible benefits for the welfare, prosperity, and justice of the community," he stressed.
