Residents Of Pantai Indah Kapuk Report ART To Police Because Of Persecution Of Pomerian Dogs And Pet Bulldogs
JAKARTA - A household assistant (ART) who has only worked for one year, initials SM (33), was caught by a surveillance camera (closed circuit television/CCTV) molesting the pet dog of a house owner with the initials NP (26) in the Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) area. Penjaringan, North Jakarta.
The alleged abuse was reported by the attorney for the owner of the house, Albert Riyadi, to the Penjaringan Metro Sector Police, with evidence of the CCTV footage. The police report number is 716/K/VIII/2021/SEKPENJ,
Albert said that there were two dogs kept by NP which were suspected to have been abused by the reported in the CCTV video footage.
The first video shows the reported slamming a house owner's Pomerian pet dog into a basket.
Meanwhile, in another video, the reported person is seen poking a wooden stick into a French bulldog. He also poured bleach on the poor animal's face.
As a result of the watering, said Albert, the dog's eye in the video was permanently disabled.
“The condition of the first dog was severely traumatized, when he met people he was afraid. The right eye is permanently disabled. And those who are planned to be examined will be examined, I'm afraid there will be broken bones," said Albert, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, September 1.
The perpetrator's actions made his client very sad because all this time he loved the dog so much that he finally reported it to the Penjaringan Metro Police.
Albert said the report was to remind the reported to be deterrent from committing acts of abuse to animals, because they can be criminally charged with Article 302 of the Criminal Code concerning animal abuse.
"The threat of a nine-month sentence for animal abuse," said Albert.
Albert also reminded the public to think twice before taking care of animals. According to him, there is a commitment that has been built so that the animal can live properly.
In addition, he also appealed to be more selective in choosing people to care for pets at home, to minimize similar incidents from happening.
“If you are looking for a household assistant, you have to be really known. In a sense, first see how the person is," said Albert.
