BPBD Jember Searches Cases Of Alleged Corruption, Funeral Honors COVID-19, This Is What The Police Confiscated

JEMBER - The Jember Police Satreskrim team confiscated a number of documents related to the COVID-19 funeral fee budget after conducting a search at the Jember Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), East Java.

"There were several rooms that were searched to seek data support, both hard and soft copies related to the COVID-19 funeral fee budget," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Jember Police AKP Komang Yogi Arya Wiguna, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, September 1.

The confiscated documents related to the alleged misuse of the COVID-19 funeral budget which had become the focus of all parties because a number of officials participated in enjoying the funeral fees, it was even reported that there was a cut in the salaries of volunteers in charge of burying the bodies of COVID-19.

"We are still continuing to explore the management of the COVID-19 funeral budget and there are several documents that we have found, so that they will be reviewed and analyzed," he said.

AKP Komang said that his party needed time to review the confiscated documents so that the results of the investigation could be maximized, so that the next stage would be to hold a case in accordance with the provisions.

"Documents needed include physical documents and 'files' related to everything such as budgeting, budget allocations, and activities," he said.

The Corruption Crime Unit Team of the Jember Police Satreskrim brought a number of documents from the room of the Acting Head of the Jember BPBD, the secretariat, and the Head of the Jember BPBD Emergency Logistics.

In the investigation, the Jember Police was assisted by the East Java Police Team who provided assistance and assistance in the case so that the results could be maximized.

In addition to the funeral fees that flowed to a number of officials and were eventually returned, information gathered in the field, the salaries received by COVID-19 funeral volunteers in Jember Regency were also cut by a certain percentage.
