Entertainment Places In Surabaya Still Forbidden To Open, Even Though PPKM Level 3
SURABAYA - The Surabaya City Government (Pemkot) still prohibits the Public Entertainment House (RHU) sector from operating, even though it is currently entering PPKM level 3. The city government has provided relaxation for shopping centers, but not for entertainment venues.
The head of the Surabaya City Satpol PP, Eddy Christijanto, said that although the RHU has not been allowed to open, there are still some operating clandestinely. Therefore, his party and related staff continue to carry out intensive supervision.
"Every night we go around doing surveillance. The Satpol PP together with the TNI and Polri, BPB Linmas, and the Covid-19 Task Force continue to carry out surveillance and control operations on RHUs that are still open," said Eddy, in Surabaya, Wednesday, September 1.
According to Eddy, this supervision is as a follow-up to the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Inmendagri) Number 38 of 2021 concerning the Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities at level 4, level 3, and level 2 in Java and Bali. Meanwhile in the city of Surabaya, currently it is still at level 3.
"We are still at level 3. At PPKM level 3, RHU is still not allowed to open. So every day, we carry out joint supervision," he said.
Eddy said that the supervision and enforcement of health protocols carried out by Satpol PP was not only carried out for RHU in Surabaya. Because, Kasatpol PP has also formed an Internal Action Officer (PTI) who is in charge of supervising each of its members in the field.
"We formed an Internal Action Officer (PTI) to carry out more supervision of members (Satpol PP), especially those in the field. For example, when accompanying inspections in the field," he explained.
For Eddy, as a law enforcement officer, of course, he must maintain ethical discipline. Therefore, he always conveys to all his members to act humanely and in a solution, both to violators of regulations and health protocols. PTI was formed to ensure that every member in the field is disciplined to maintain ethics and work according to procedures.
"We as law enforcers must be better first. It's like a broom, don't let our broom get dirty. If we get a dirty broom, then we can't clean the floor, instead the floor will get dirty," he said.
Eddy admitted that he always reminded members regarding the rights and obligations that must be carried out. This includes ethics that should not be carried out by staff, as well as all structural officials at the Surabaya Satpol PP.
"We regularly evaluate the ranks of structural officials after the apple, in the past week and plan for the future on a regular basis. Mainly monitoring the performance of members in the field so that they work according to procedures," he said.
