Bank NTT Credit Case, MA Sentences Ilham Nurdiyanto 7.5 Years In Prison

JAKARTA - The Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia sentenced Ilham Nurdiyanto (56) to 7.5 years in prison, a defendant in a criminal case of corruption in working capital investment funds at Bank NTT Surabaya Branch which cost the state Rp128 billion.

"The High Prosecutor's Office of East Nusa Tenggara Province has received the cassation decision against the defendant Ilham Nurdiyanto. According to the verdict, the sentence is 7.5 years in prison," said Head of the Legal Information and Public Relations Section of the East Nusa Tenggara High Prosecutor's Office, Abdul Hakim in Kupang, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, September 1st.

He said that in addition to imprisonment for 7.5 years, the defendant was also sentenced to pay a fine of Rp. 400,000,000 or imprisonment for six months if he did not pay the fine.

In addition, the Supreme Court also imposed additional penalties on the defendant Ilham Nurdiyanto to pay a replacement money of more than Rp. 2.5 billion and if he did not pay the replacement money, the property belonging to the corruptor would be confiscated by the prosecutor and auctioned off to cover the replacement money.

According to him, with the Supreme Court's decision, the executing prosecutor at the East Nusa Tenggara Provincial Prosecutor's Office immediately carried out the execution of the person concerned to serve a prison sentence of 7.5 years according to the Supreme Court's decision.

"The Prosecutor's Office will immediately carry out the execution because this decision is final and inkrah," said Abdul Hakim.

He added that the corruption case of working capital investment funds at Bank NTT Surabaya Branch which cost the state Rp128 billion involved seven debtors and six of them had served prison terms after the Supreme Court rejected the appeal filed by the corruptors.
