Corruption In The Senggarang Slum Settlement Project And Bugis Kepri Village, Cases Rise In Investigation

KEPRI - The Tanjungpinang District Prosecutor's Office (Kejari) of Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands is investigating allegations of corruption in the project to improve the quality of urban slums using APBN funds worth Rp. 34 billion in the Senggarang and Bugis villages.

Tanjungpinang Kejari Chief Joko Yuhono said the investigation found criminal elements and indications of state losses in the development project.

"It has gone to the investigation stage," said Tanjungpinang Chief Prosecutor Joko Yuhono as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, September 1.

According to him, the project, which was funded by APBN funds for the 2020 budget year, is suspected to be not in accordance with the provisions, quality and specifications. The construction project was won by PT Ryantama Citrakarya Abadi.

"We are still investigating the mode of corruption," said Joko.

During the investigation process, his party has examined about 20 witnesses who are considered to know and are involved in the process of building the project.

Even so far, he continued, the Tanjungpinang Kejari has also sent out a summons for examination addressed to the witnesses. "The value of the state loss is not yet known. We are still investigating," he said.

Previously, the Tanjungpinang Kejari had collected information (Pulbaket) following up on community reports related to indications of corruption in the project to improve the quality of Tanjungpinang City slums in 2020.

A number of parties, ranging from contractors, commitment making officials (PPK), project foreman, to ministry work units (Satker) and other parties involved, were questioned by the investigative team during the investigation process.
