Watch Out! Don't Be Careless, In A Matter Of Seconds The Perpetrator Can Break Into A Locked Motorbike
JAKARTA - The theft of motorized vehicles occurred in Gang Manggar 2, Kelapa Dua Wetan Village, Ciracas District, East Jakarta. As a result of the theft, a local resident's Honda Beat motorcycle number B 4479 TOZ was lost and carried away by the perpetrators.
Luckily, the perpetrator's crime was caught on CCTV cameras around the scene. In the recording, the incident occurred on Tuesday, August 31, yesterday afternoon. The perpetrators of the motorcycle theft amounted to 2 people and rode 1 motorcycle.
"The victim was a resident of RT 08/02. Coincidentally, when the incident happened, he was playing at his friend's place in Gang Manggar 2. So the motorbike was parked on the side of the alley," said Head of RW 02 Sanusi to reporters at the scene, Wednesday, September 1.
Still from CCTV monitoring, the perpetrators came riding a motorbike together. They stopped in front of Manggar 2 alley or about five meters from where the victim's motorbike was parked.
The perpetrators were free to act because at the time of the incident the residents around the location were in their respective homes so they did not see the perpetrator's actions when breaking into the victim's ignition.
Referring to the CCTV footage of the incident, the perpetrator only took a few seconds to break into the motorcycle's ignition key using the letter T key and then fled with his partner.
"Judging from the CCTV, one perpetrator went down to steal the motorbike, the other perpetrator was waiting on the motorbike. At the time of the incident there was a garbage collector near the location, but he was also not aware of the incident," he said.
Sanusi said his residents had tried to trace the identity of the perpetrator based on the perpetrator's number plate in the CCTV footage, but failed because the CCTV footage was vague.
According to him, the theft accompanied by weighting that occurred in the settlements of residents of RW 02 Kelapa Dua Wetan Village is not the first time this has happened so it is quite disturbing for residents.
"During my time as chairman of RW 02 this has happened several times," he said.
