Allowing DWP, Provincial Government Will Receive More Than IDR 10 Billion
JAKARTA - The DKI Provincial Government recognizes that Jakarta is a big city that requires large and classy events. For example, the Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP) music event that will be held at JIExpo, Central Jakarta, tonight.
It cannot be denied that these big events increase regional income from the tax sector to billions of rupiah. Acting Head of the Tourism and Culture Office, Alberto Ali, explained the DWP tax revenue from the experience of DKI two years ago.
For the economic data from the 2017 tax, there are two tax objects imposed on DWP, namely food and drinks at 10 percent, and entertainment tax at 20 percent.
"In 2017, the DWP was held for 2 days. The food and beverage tax was Rp. 2.5 billion and for entertainment it was approximately Rp. 7.5 billion. (Total revenue) from two years ago with 2 days was Rp. 10 billion," said Alberto. at City Hall, Central Jakarta, Friday, December 13.
That way, the projected revenue for the largest electric music event in Southeast Asia will be greater than IDR 10 billion. The reason is, the 2019 DWP will be held for three days, from December 13 to 15.
Moreover, since last November 26, the DKI Provincial Government has been pressured by the DKI DPRD to increase the tax sector until the end of the year because it is still in the figure of Rp35.3 trillion. In fact, the revenue target of the 13 taxes that have been set in the 2019 Revised APBD (APBD-P) is IDR 44.5 trillion.
"Currently, it has increased to Rp38 trillion," said the Head of the Regional Tax and Retribution Agency, Faisal Syafruddin, when contacted by VOI.
That way, tax revenue from DWP is one way to reduce the burden of tax deposits for DKI.
Furthermore, despite giving permission to the Ismaya Group as the organizer to hold a music concert amidst the refusal of a number of community organizations, the Tourism Office requires that the activity will comply with applicable laws in Indonesia.
"In its implementation, DWP activities must comply with all regulations, especially regarding the prohibition of drugs and behavior that is not in accordance with existing cultural norms," said Alberto.
If the promise of the 2019 DWP implementing committee is violated, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will act decisively including being able to revoke the activity permit. The police also deployed 597 personnel to secure the DWP music concert.
"We have coordinated with the organizers (DWP) and the provincial government. There are police officers who coordinate with Satpol PP officers using plain clothes and official clothes with the committee. There are already sections," said Head of Central Jakarta Metro Police Commissioner Harry Kurniawan.
Supported by the DPRD
Jakarta DPRD Chairman Prasetio Edi Marsudi also supports the DWP held in Jakarta. The reason is, DKI also gets profit from the music concert. There is regional income flowing from ticket taxes and leasing the Jakarta International Expo building.
"DWP is DKI's last revenue (to support this year's revenue). And it's not just this year. It's been there for years," said Prasetio.
Prasetio was surprised at the rejection of the DWP program by a number of mass organizations. Given, this concert was held in Jakarta, which incidentally is a big city. "This is the city, boss!" said Prasetio.
In fact, the PKS faction as the party supporting Anies in the 2017 Pilgub also did not question the holding of this controversial music concert. According to the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta PKS Syuro Council Abdurrahman Suhaimi, everything needs to be seen from a legal aspect.
"We do not prohibit cultural arts. However, the implementation in the field must be based on the obedience of the law. So, it is not because I do not have an appetite and I prohibit it. We feel comfortable in our state because there are benchmarks that we agree on together," Suhaimi explained.
