Number Of MRT Passengers Increases 142 Percent During PPKM Level 3
JAKARTA - The number of passengers for PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) has increased by 142 percent during the adjustment of the rules for the Implementation of Level 3 PKM Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) on August 12-29.
President Director of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) William Sabandar explained that during PPKM Level 3 on August 12-29, the total MRT passengers reached 127,103 people, an increase of 142 percent compared to during PPKM Level 4 on July 27-11 August, which was 52,497 passengers.
"The implementation of PPKM Level 3, which began in mid-August, has made MRT Jakarta's ridership even higher and higher," William said, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, August 31.
Based on passenger transport records (ridership), the average daily number of passengers during PPKM Level 3 increased to 7,061 people, compared to PPKM Level 4 which was only 3,281 people.
The highest number of passengers during PPKM Level 3 touched 10,988 people with the trend of passengers increasing every week.
While at PPKM Level 4, the highest number of daily passengers only reached 4,827 people.
In the latest PPKM Level 3 rules, MRT also requires proof of vaccines as a condition of travel for passengers.
Vaccine proof can be shown in printed or digital form issued through the PeduliLindung or Jakarta Kini (JaKi) application.
"In accordance with the Decree of the Department of Transportation, we ask for vaccine evidence to be shown, both in printed and digital form as our effort to support the Level 3 PPKM policy," William said.
