Bekasi Regency Government Review Cinema Opening

BEKASI - The Bekasi Regency Government, West Java has prepared a study on the opening of cinemas located in shopping centers and business centers in the region to encourage economic recovery affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We are currently conducting a study on the opening of the cinema, of course accompanied by re-checking as part of the verification," said Head of Bekasi Regency Satpol PP Dodo Hendra Rosika in Cikarang quoted by Antara, Tuesday, August 31.

Dodo said the study on the opening of the cinema was carried out following the extension of the Policy for the Enforcement of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) set by the government for the Jabodebek agglomeration areas including Bekasi Regency, effective from 31 August to 6 September 2021.

At the same time, the regional government is also applying for a cinema operating permit to the central government. "Once it is approved by the government, we already have an opening study," he said.

The study covers aspects of health protocols that cinema managers must have in order to operate properly, similar to the application of health protocols in shopping centers and malls.

Then the use of the PeduliLindung application when visitors want to enter the cinema area is one of the absolute requirements that must be met.

"We will check again later, in every cinema area there should be barcode and other facilities. Then the security officer is standing by there to check the completeness of prospective moviegoers," he said.

Dodo continued that the study would be perfected by conducting field trials so that moviegoers really feel safe and comfortable while watching.

"During the trial, we will make sure the cinema is safe from the spread of the corona virus, the maximum capacity is also an absolute requirement, we will re-check the labeling of cinema audience seats," he said.

Dodo hopes that the opening of cinema operations will be able to move the economy of business actors who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The wheels of the economy can move again, regional income from the tax sector can also be boosted when cinemas are allowed to operate again," he said.
