Student From Jakarta Arrested In Tangerang, Police Find 8 Celurit

TANGERANG – As many as 70 students from Jakarta and Tangerang City were taken to the Tangerang City Metro Police Headquarters for allegedly planning to commit a brawl.

The Tangerang City Metro Police Chief, Kombes Pol Deonijiu De Fatima said the dozens of students were arrested while gathering at the Skateboard Park on Jalan M Yamin, Babakan Village, Tangerang City, Banten.

"The students who were detained include 34 students from Jakarta and the remaining 36 students from Tangerang City," said Kombes Deonijiu in his statement, Tuesday, August 31.

From the results of the search of the students who were detained, his party confiscated eight sharp-edged celurit weapons which were stored in bags belonging to five students.

The police chief explained that the 65 students would be called by their parents and the school. Meanwhile, five students carrying sharp weapons are still being investigated.

"There are 8 sharp weapons. This morning we call their parents, to be given temporary guidance, five students who carry weapons are still being examined at the Resort Police," he said.

On the same occasion, Deonijiu appealed to parents to strictly supervise their children when they are outside the home.

Furthermore, the 65 students were sent home by making a statement.

"They haven't had a chance to get into a brawl yet, they've already been arrested. The parents have been summoned, we'll send them home after making a statement and collecting data so they don't repeat their actions," he said.
