Kominfo Collaborates With Telkom And Gojek To Extend The Reach Of The Care And Protect Application

JAKARTA - The government, through the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemkominfo), will work with PT Telkom Indonesia and Gojek to expand the range of use of the PeduliLindung application.

This is done in line with the addition of several new features in the protected application, namely a health passport or certificate obtained from the results of the rapid test and swab test. The data will be stored in the PeduliL Protect application, making it very easy to use.

"This is one of the basic infrastructures of New Normal. Everyone who wants to work must be checked whether he or she passes the COVID-19 test, everyone who wants to board the plane will also be checked," said Deputy Minister of BUMN, Budi Gunadi Sadikin during a press conference. online, Tuesday 30 June.

According to Budi, the health screening function will be one of the basic infrastructures for implementing the New Normal policy. Therefore the application of this application will be very useful if it can be integrated with other platforms.

"Platform technology such as Telkom and Gojek can greatly help accelerate the development, formation and preparation of this New Normal infrastructure instrument," said Budi.

Budi also explained that later the health passport, whose data is already in the PeduliLindung application, can become an e-passport and can accelerate the return of economic activities as well as the community.

President Director of Telkom, Ririek Adriansyah, also strives to always develop the PeduliL Protect application to prevent the spread of COVID-19. For information, this application is also made by Telkom.

"We continue to support Kominfo to provide one tool in overcoming COVID-19. Together with Gojek, with this application, people can easily bring test results, do not need to use a physical card, so just use the application," said Ririek.

In addition, the Head of the BNPB Pusdalops, Bambang Surya Putra said that this application will later reveal the identity of the user, where they can easily reveal the results of the COVID-19 test.

"This is the government's commitment to protect the public from COVID-19. By means of pentahelix, the relationship between the government, business and business actors, and the media must work together," said Bambang.

"This application can show the user's identity by revealing the test results from the user. Later, if the user is found positive, the data confidentiality will be guaranteed," added Bambang.

Bambang also asked all Indonesian people to download the Pedulil Protected application to protect others and get valid information from the government.

A similar sentiment was also expressed by Gojek's Chief Policy and Government Relations, Shinto E. Nugroho, who admitted that his platform really supports this collaboration. Because, he assumed that in the future, it would reduce the number of COVID-19 spread throughout the country, when people realized the importance of their health status.

"We feel proud and happy when the Minister and the Director General invite us to collaborate together regarding PeduliLindung. This application is important because it is not only for protecting ourselves, but also for protecting those around us, ”explained Shinto.

Until now, the PeduliLindung application has been downloaded approximately 4.1 million times for both Android and iOS users. Although this number is not yet 5 percent of the total population in Indonesia.
