Position Selection Bribery, KPK Finds Document Evidence And Money Worth Rp362.5 Million

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named the Regent of Probolinggo Puput Tantriana Sari and a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the NasDem faction who is also her husband, Hasan Aminuddin, as well as dozens of other people as suspects in the alleged bribery case in the auction of positions.

The determination of the suspect was the result of the Hand Catch Operation (OTT) which was held on Sunday, August 29 in the morning. As for the results of this activity, the KPK managed to secure evidence in the form of documents and money amounting to Rp362.5 million.

Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Alexander Marwata said the silent operation was initiated by information from the public who said that state officials would receive money. The money has been prepared by the Head of the Krejengengan District, Doddy Kurniawan (DK) and the official of the Karangaren village head Sumarto (SO).

However, before the money was handed over, both of them had prepared the names of the candidates for village head officials and the amount of money that was handed over to Hasan Aminuddin who acted as a confidant of the Probolinggo Regent Puput Tantriana Sari. The names, continued Alex, will be selected and initialed as proof of approval.

"When secured by the KPK Team, DK and So brought money amounting to Rp. 240 million and a proposal for a proposed name to become a village head official who allegedly came from ASN in the Probolinggo Regency Government who wanted a position to serve as village head," Alex said at a press conference held aired online in the early hours of Tuesday, August 31.

Furthermore, the KPK also secured the Head of Paiton Muhammad Ridwan (MR) at his home and managed to find Rp112.5 million in his private residence.

After finding some money, the anti-corruption commission team moved again on Monday, August 30 to secure Hasan Aminuddin, Puput Tantriana Sari, and an aide at the house at Jalan Ahmad Yani, Probolinggo. All parties caught by OTT were then taken to the East Java Regional Police for questioning before being taken to the KPK Red and White House.

"The evidence that has now been secured includes various documents and money in the amount of Rp. 362.5 million," said Alex.

In this case, the KPK has named 22 suspects consisting of four bribe recipients and 18 givers.

The four recipients were Probolinggo Regent Puput Tantriana Sari, DPR member Hasan Aminuddin, Krejengan sub-district head Doddy Kurniawan, and Paiton sub-district head Muhamad Ridwan.

While the 18 donors namely Sumanto, Ali Wafa, Mawardi, Mashudi, Maliha, Mohammad Bambang, Masruhen, Abdul Wafi, Kho'im, Akhmad Saifullah, Jaelani, Uhar, Nurul Hadi, Nuruh Huda, Hasan, Sahir, Sugito, and Syamsuddin as suspects giver. They are all state civil apparatus (ASN) in Probolinggo.

Currently, only five people have been detained, namely Puput, Hasan, Doddy, Ridwan, and Sugito. They were detained in different places.

Puput is being held at the KPK Detention Center (Rutan) at the Red and White Building branch. Hasan is being held at the KPK Rutan, Lot C1 branch.

Meanwhile, Doddy is being held at the Central Jakarta Police Rutan. Then, Ridwan was detained at the South Jakarta Police Rutan. The detention was carried out for the next 20 days starting from August 31 to September 19.
