Jakarta Transportation Agency Provides 70 Free School Buses For Face-to-Face Learning, Here's The Route

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency provides 70 school buses for free to take students who take part in face-to-face learning (PTM) at school starting today.

The Head of the School Transportation Management Unit of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Ali Murthadho, said that the school bus will be on standby at the departure point, and adjust the learning time.

"During the PTM, some school buses are on standby at the departure point and some are at school according to the situation and conditions," said Ali in his statement, Monday, August 30.

Ali said that the school buses operated were 70 units, with 20 regular routes and 13 zoning routes.

Ali said, this school bus will be on standby to pick up students at the departure point, and operate according to the current limited PTM learning time.

"We will evaluate its development later, if the number of fleets is lacking, more will be added," he said.

The capacity of school buses is limited to only 50 percent or 15 passengers per bus. Students must apply health protocols on buses, namely wearing masks, bus hand sanitizer, and not being allowed to talk or eat and drink.

"Each bus will be manned by two officers who will also always remind students to carry out health protocols on the bus," Ali explained.

Separately, Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria said that his party would increase the number of buses that serve students going to school in line with the increase in the number of educational units that will be opened later.

The plan is that in mid-September, the DKI Provincial Government will add hundreds of educational units to hold PTM with a total of 1,500 schools.

"In September, hopefully 1,500 schools will be able to attend and in January all schools will be able to follow. We will see the progress. We cannot decide how long. The principle is to provide the best service to our children so that they can participate in PTM," explained Riza.
