Victim Drowning In The West Canal Found, Witness: Victim Dipped Himself To Avoid Brawl
JAKARTA - The Head of the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office as the SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC) said the search for drowning victims in the West Flood Canal area, Tambora, West Jakarta had been found. The victim, identified as Solihin (20), was found in a lifeless condition.
"This afternoon we found the victim dead and immediately evacuated to the RSCM for further processing," said Hendra Sudirman, Monday, August 30.
Solihin was found at around 12.00 WIB, about 50 meters from where he fell. The search was conducted today, Monday, August 30, since 07.00 WIB, and was carried out by two different Search and Rescue Unit (SRU) teams.
The joint SAR team involved in today's search consists of the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office, DKI Jakarta BPBD, West Jakarta Damkar, Koramil 03 Tambora, Tambora Police, Baznas (Bazis DKI Jakarta).
Also involved were the Water Agency UPK, Tagana Jakarta Barat Disaster Tambora, IEA, Medical Rescue, Task Force Brigade 08, CAT Rescue, Ranita UIN, RIT, DMC DD, KCR, For Indonesia, PPSU Kel. Kapuk, SAR MTA, Response Team, Squad PBI, UAR, Shabawana, and the families of the victims.
Previously reported, Solihin drowned on Sunday at around 04.00 WIB. According to witnesses at the location, the victim fell into the Ciliwung River while fleeing because he panicked when he saw the brawl that took place in front of Seasons City Mall.
