The Jatanras Team Of The Central Java Police In The Case Of Extorting Solo City Government Officials And Jokowi's Former Adjutant

SOLO - The Central Java Police Jatanras Team has uncovered a case of extortion of officials within the Surakarta City Government. The police arrested a perpetrator in a boarding house behind the Dr Oen Kandang Sapi Hospital (RS) Solo.

Head of Subdit 3 Jatanras Polda Java AKBP Agus Puryadi said his party arrested the perpetrator of the extortion case with the initials AS (40), a resident of Pasar Kliwon Solo, who was arrested at his boarding house and is now being held at the Surakarta Police Headquarters for legal processing.

Launching, ERA.id, Monday, August 30, Agus Puryadi said the case began with a report from a head of the Surakarta City Government office with the initials Ts who reported to the police that he was blackmailed by a person with the initials AS.

The perpetrator admitted that someone close to the former mayor then asked the victim for some money, which he said was for hospital fees and so on. This has been done by the suspect since July 2021 until five times the amount of Rp60 million has been transferred.

The victims of the perpetrators with the initials AS were an office head with the initials T to a former aide to President Jokowi while still serving as Mayor of Solo with the initials HW.

"Actually, the US and Ts already know each other. However, the US claimed to be named Edi Pucang Sawit. In fact, the victim had avoided changing his cellphone number, but the perpetrators still knew his new number," said Agus Purwadi when submitting this extortion case to the Criminal Investigation Unit. Surakarta Police.

In fact, the perpetrator via his cell phone had sent threatening words to blackmail the victim until the case was finally reported to the police.

"We received a report from the victim, on Friday (27/8), immediately dispatched the Jatanras Team of the Central Java Police and succeeded in arresting the US perpetrators at his boarding house behind Dr Oen Kandang Sapi Hospital, Solo, Sunday, at around 10:00 WIB," said Agus Purwadi.

From the results of the perpetrator's confession, it turned out that not only Tm was the victim of extortion, but there were two other officials within the Surakarta City Government who were blackmailed by the perpetrators.

According to him, the two other officials who were victims had each handed over money to the perpetrators worth Rp. 2.5 million and Rp. 250 thousand. Everything was sent via the account belonging to the US sister and then sent to her account.

The police collected a number of pieces of evidence from the hands of the perpetrators, including a cellphone used to carry out extortion, an account book containing extortion money, and a two-wheeled vehicle.

The perpetrator will be charged with Article 368 of the Criminal Code concerning the Crime of Extortion with a maximum penalty of nine years in prison.
