Preventing Covid-19 Transmission To Medical Personnel, Minister Of Health Terawan Encourages The Use Of Telemedicine

JAKARTA - Minister of Health (Menkes) Terawan Agus Putranto encourages the use of health facilities in the form of telemedicine for people who want treatment. This aims to prevent transmission of COVID-19 to medical personnel and patients who wish to seek treatment at the hospital.

To encourage the use of telemedicine, Minister of Health Terawan said that his party had made an application called Sehat Media.

"The Ministry of Health is making an application that can serve the public in providing consultation information on health and other health problems. The application is called Sehat Media which is an innovation strategy in increasing access to health services to the public," said Terawan in a webinar, Tuesday, June 30.

He appealed to all hospitals and health facilities to develop and use remote health services.

However, Terawan admitted that there was still homework to do in the form of making regulations. According to him, this regulation needs to be made in order to build a digital ecosystem in the health sector.

In addition to inviting people to use telemedicine, he also asked people not to hesitate to use Indonesian modern medicine (OMAI) which made natural ingredients.

Moreover, currently the Ministry of Health is participating in promoting this modern medicine because the development of this drug has been carried out.

"The development of modern Indonesian native medicine or abbreviated as OMAI has been carried out, namely products with raw materials from Indonesia's natural resources that have been scientifically proven for their safety and efficacy through preclinical and clinical tests," he said.

He said, the Ministry of Health is currently continuing to strengthen traditional health services that integrate conventional and complementary. So, traditional medicine in the hospital can be done because it is proven safe and useful.

In supporting this program, a number of trained Jamupoltekkes graduates are also provided. There are at least 561 D3 graduates and 373 D4 BA Trainner graduates who are ready to run this program. He said, currently there are a number of hospitals that run traditional medicine health services. One of them is Dr. Sardjito Hospital in Yogyakarta.

The former head of RSPAD Gatot Subroto also said that the Ministry of Health had prepared a traditional health service center hospital. This hospital is located in Tawangmangu, Central Java. This, he continued, aims to show the government's commitment to traditional medicine.

"This clinic prioritizes herbal medicine science from upstream to downstream. From ethnopharmotological research of medicinal and jami plants, preservation of post-harvest cultivation, clinical research on herbal management technology, training on herbal science and technology, science and technology services, and cementation to increasing community independence," he concluded.
