Praveen / Melati's Mission In The PBSI Home Tournament Is Not Just Winning
JAKARTA - PBSI Home Tournament will compete in the mixed doubles sector starting Wednesday, July 1, tomorrow. The Praveen Jordan / Melati Daeva Oktavianti pair are clearly the seeds to be the winner of the tournament which is fighting for the total prize of Rp. 200 million.
Praveen / Melati is arguably the number one mixed doubles currently owned by PBSI. The performance of both of them is also improving. In March, Praveen / Melati successfully won the All England 2020 title. Naturally, if finally Praveen / Melati were called the strongest pair in the PBSI Home Tournament.
Victory isn't Praveen / Melati's only mission. This event is a place for both of them to test their readiness to return to compete in official tournaments in the next few months. If there are no obstacles, the BWF tournament will start again in August.
According to Praveen, the match will feel different even though they often practice matches using scores against teammates at the PBSI National Pelatnas. The reason is, the match will be felt as an official tournament. Praveen was curious.
"In this tournament we just want to enjoy the match, want to train our focus too. We want to try our readiness to go back again to what it feels like after a long absence to compete,"

The pair Hafiz Faizal / Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja will be Praveen / Melati's toughest opponent. In head to head, Praveen / Melati is indeed winning 4-2. However, they should be vigilant because at the last meeting they lost. The Danish Open 2019 champion gave up two straight games 11-21 and 19-21 from Hafiz / Gloria at the 2019 BWF World Tour Finals.
"We have met many times in official tournaments and their experience is more or less the same as ours," said Praveen.
