Women In Bali Robbed Allegedly By Nigerian Citizens In North Kuta Bali
BADUNG - A foreigner suspected of being from Nigeria assaulted and robbed a woman with the initials BMS in North Kuta, Badung, Bali.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for North Kuta Police, Iptu Made Purwanta, explained that the assault and robbery took place on Friday, August 27 at noon. The victim was contacted by a foreigner with the initials K to come to Kerobokan Kelod, North Kuta.
"(The perpetrator) said there was something he wanted to talk to the victim about and then the victim went to the place", said Iptu Purwanta, Sunday, August 29.
After arriving at the location, the perpetrator took the victim's bag containing an important card and IDR 2 million in cash.
"Then he asked the victim for money and if the victim did not give it he threatened the victim to kill the victim in Ubud (Gianyar)", added Iptu Purwanta.
After that, the victim was invited to go to Ubud. The foreigner asked the victim to take money through an ATM.
After taking the money, the car used by the perpetrator broke down. Here, the victim fled and was rescued by residents.
"Furthermore, the victim reported the incident to the North Kuta Police for follow-up and prosecuted the perpetrators by applicable legal provisions", said Iptu Purwanta.
Previously, the victim's sister's post went viral telling the story of what happened to her brother. The perpetrator was identified with the initials K from Nigeria.
"Indonesian citizen was persecuted by foreigners at knifepoint, IDR 20 million was taken, bag, 2 cellphones, wallet along with important documents. Kicked, beaten, and managed to escape", he wrote.
