BANTEN – The high enthusiasm of Baduy residents in the interior of Lebak Regency, Banten to have an electronic identity card (KTP) created long queues at the electronic ID card recording service post. This e-KTP recording activity was organized by the local Civil Registry Population Service (Disdukcapil) in Cijahe Village, Lebak Regency. Making an e-KTP is very important as a state administration requirement. In the past, he said, he worked in a food factory using an old ID card. And now making e-KTP because he wants to go back to work in Jakarta
"After we got our ID cards, we wanted to work in Jakarta," he explained.
Likewise, other Baduy residents, Nani (22) said she was willing to queue up to take part in the recording and photoshoot because e-KTP was needed to get social assistance from the government.
In addition, the e-KTP is also a requirement to create an account with a bank and also to work in Jakarta.
So far, many Baduy residents work outside the area as construction workers, workshops, factory workers, household assistants, and traders.
"We used to work as household assistants in North Jakarta," she said.

The government's programs include the "Health Card" so that Baduy residents can get free medical treatment, care, and delivery, as well as other social programs, such as getting the COVID-19 assistance.
He said that currently, the total population of Baduy residents is recorded at 11,724 consisting of 5,898 men and 5,826 women, while 7,236 people are required to have an e-KTP. and the remaining 3,052 people do not yet have a resident identity. So far, he said, the Baduy community has to make an e-KTP recording at the Lebak Disdukcapil based in Rangkasbitung.
"We are certainly happy now that the Lebak Disdukcapil has come to the Baduy border to make it easier to apply for an e-KTP for Baduy residents," he said.
Meanwhile, Head of the Lebak Regency Disdukcapil Ujang Bahrudin said his party continued to optimize the "pick up the ball" system so that all residents have a population identity, including the Baduy community starting with ID cards, family cards, and birth certificates.
The "pick up the ball" service is for convenience for people living in remote areas, because the Lebak Regency area is quite large with 28 sub-districts.
"We are targeting that this year all residents already have population data," said Ujang Bahrudin.
