CCTV Caught, Man In Tanjungbalai Dies With Prostration Position While Praying At The Mosque

MEDAN - A man in Tanjungbalai, North Sumatra, died while praying. The incident was caught on surveillance cameras and the video went viral on social media.

From the information obtained, the man died while performing the Tahiyyatul Masjid prayer just before performing the Maghrib prayer.

Viewed by VOI Friday, August 27, the video has been shared thousands of times. Based on the video's narration, the man's name is Kalpen Simangunsong.

"One of the Congregants of the Great Mosque of Mr. Kalpen SIMANGUNSONG (Advisory Board of BKM of the Great Mosque of Sei Tualang Raso) has breathed his last right while performing the Tahiyatul Masjid prayer before the Maghrib prayer. " wrote the uploader in his post.

The incident is said to have occurred on Thursday, August 26, at around 18.35 WIB, a few minutes before the Maghrib call to prayer was sounded at the Great Mosque of Sei Tualang Raso District, Tanjungbalai City.

In the video that was shared with a duration of 3 minutes 52 seconds, the atmosphere briefly showed Kalpen wearing a sarong and wearing a white shirt walking into the mosque.

Kalpen then performs two rakaat circumcision prayers. However, in the second rak'ah in the prostration position, he did not rise again.

A man who was suspicious of what happened Kalpen did not get up had time to wake him up. But got no response.

Soon, the incident received the attention of the congregation who were already inside the mosque. Kalpen's body had been laid down because he didn't wake up. He was then carried by other worshipers outside the mosque.

The deputy chairman of the mosque's Nazirite body, Subuh Muhammad, confirmed the incident. According to him, every day Kalpen routinely prays at the mosque.

"He was about 62 years old, he came to the mosque (prayer) five times every day, and the distance from his house to the mosque was approximately 100 meters," Subuh said when confirmed by reporters, Friday, August 27.

Subuh said, to his knowledge, the deceased did not previously suffer from any serious illness. When he came to the mosque he was also in good health.

"Even a few days ago, he was still attending a meeting with other BKM administrators. Maybe that was the rule. The deceased had been buried after Friday prayers," explained Subuh.
