Chairman Of The PDIP Faction Admits Anies' Subordinates Had Lobbied To Cancel The Proposed Interpellation Of Formula E

JAKARTA - Chairman of the PDIP faction of the DKI DPRD Gembong Warsono admitted that he had been lobbied by top officials from the DKI Provincial Government to cancel the proposal for the Interpellation Right for Formula E.

"I was also lobbied by top officials from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to stop the interpellation," said Gembong when contacted, August 27.

On the night of Wednesday August 25, the day before the submission of the proposed interpellation right, Gembong admitted that he was visited by one of Anies' subordinates while in his office, 8th floor of the DKI DPRD building.

The top official lobbied Gembong not to participate in the interview through hours of discussion. However, Gembong did not stop his intention to join with 24 other members of the PDIP faction, as well as 8 members of the PSI faction, to submit an interpellation proposal letter to the chairman of the DKI DPRD the next day.

To the top official, Gembong explained that the interpellation was nothing to worry about. Because, when it was realized, the DPRD only asked questions about the urgency of Formula E accompanied by the results of a feasibility study.

"For me it's very simple. I asked, you (DKI Provincial Government) answered, finished. In the end, the most advice, the conclusion is there. When asking questions, finished, 'Never mind sir, you can continue. 2023', for example," explained Gembong.

Until finally, a group of DPRD members from the PDIP and PSI factions came to the room of the Chairperson of the DKI DPRD, Prasetio Edi Marsudi, to propose an interpellation right on Formula E on Thursday, August 26. They came together with the hope that the interpellation could be realized.

The interpellation application letter, along with the signatures of the DPRD members who proposed it, were already in Prasetio's hands. After this, the DPRD will determine a timetable for holding a plenary meeting to decide whether the interpellation can be held or not.

In order to approve the implementation of the interpellation, DPRD members who are present at the plenary meeting must meet a quorum of 50 percent + 1 or as many as 54 DPRD members.

Currently, there are only 33 DPRD members who have proposed the interpellation of Formula E. Therefore, PDIP and PSI will lobby DPRD members from other factions to participate in plenary meetings.

PDIP faction member Ima Mahdiah said that the support of other faction members in criticizing the implementation of Formula E could be realized by attending a plenary meeting. This is because the number of DPRD members who propose interpellation is not sufficient to meet the quorum in the plenary meeting.

"We hope that friends who may want to come forward as individuals, can attend the plenary forum. Because if we only have 33 people in the plenary session, we lose votes. We cannot continue the interpellation," said Ima.
