The Second Explosion Occurs Near Kabul Airport, This Time The US Is Also A Victim
JAKARTA - After the explosion occurred at the Abbey Gate, another bomb explosion occurred near the Baron Hotel. Civilians and some of the United States (US) were victims in the explosion.
It was the second explosion on Thursday, August 26, which occurred not far from the site of the first explosion. Both locations are in the vicinity of Kabul airport, Afghanistan.
Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby confirmed the news via Twitter. The previous large-scale evacuation took place at Kabul airport.
"We can confirm that the explosion at Abbey Gate was the result of a complex attack that resulted in a number of US and civilian casualties," wrote John Kirby.

So far, five people have died and dozens were injured in the explosion. The victim was taken to a Kabul hospital.
The explosions came after Western countries, including Britain and the US, issued warnings about the terrorist threat in the region. There are no details about the warning.
What is clear is that the US and UK have asked their citizens to stay away from the airport. The two explosions are thought to have been suicide attacks.
