SURABAYA - Deputy Mayor of Surabaya Armuji provides assistance to elderly residents who have not been touched by social assistance in Teluk Nibung Barat, North Perak Village, Pabean Cantian District, Surabaya City, East Java.

"In principle, everything is trying so that people in need can be touched," said Armuji and his team when visiting the elderly Maisaroh at his residence in North Perak, quoted by Antara, Thursday, August 26.

According to Armuji, as soon as he received information from social media about the elderly (elderly) who had not been touched by social assistance (bansos), he immediately sent his team to help solve Maisaroh's grandmother's problem.

Through his team, Wawali Armuji provided assistance in the form of food packages and some money to Maisaroh's grandmother. Wawali Armuji also had a dialogue and gave encouragement to the grandmother.

Armuji also appealed to the surrounding community to help the Surabaya City Government to always work together to deal with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We all do not turn a blind eye, of course there are still residents who must be helped. It is the obligation of the Surabaya City Government to be able to attend for residents in need. I also invite residents to work together," he said.

Armuji also confirmed that so far there has been a lot of assistance from the government. All the assistance was channeled to the maximum and strived to be right on target. In addition, there is also assistance and mutual assistance from various elements of society, and it is distributed jointly by the residents.

Vice Mayor Armuji also admitted that he is very open if there are poor people who really need and do not receive any assistance, to immediately report to the village, sub-district and Social Service.

"In principle, the data we have will always be updated, so that the distribution of aid can be more targeted during the COVID-19 pandemic," he said.

Meanwhile, local community leader Syamsul Arifin expressed his gratitude for the attention of Wawali Armuji and the Surabaya City Government who have helped their citizens, especially since the elderly condition is paralyzed, so it must be considered.
