Compact Bobby Nasution, Chief Of Police And Dandim Medan Suppress COVID-19 With Testing And Tracing
MEDAN - The Medan City Government continues to try to suppress the spread of COVID-19 in the city of Medan. One of them is intensively testing and tracing.
Those who are confirmed positive will be placed in a centralized isolation location (isoter) that has been provided by the Medan City Government. This was conveyed by the Mayor of Medan, Bobby Nasution in a meeting with elements of the Medan City Forkopimda at Makodim 0201/BS Medan, Thursday, August 26.
The meeting was attended by Dandim 0201/BS, Colonel Inf Agus Setiadar, Medan Police Chief Kombes Riko Sunarko, Belawan Port Police Chief AKBP R. Dayan and Acting Head of Medan City Health Office, Mardohar.
During the meeting, Bobby Nasution said that currently restaurants and shopping centers such as malls have been allowed to operate. However, to avoid a spike in transmission, it is necessary to anticipate and implement strict health protocols.
"Until now the transmission is still quite high, so we need to anticipate so that it does not increase," said the Mayor of Medan, quoted from a statement from the Public Relations of the Medan City Government.
In addition, Bobby Nasution continues to improve testing and tracing, especially in the red zoned sub-districts. For people who are confirmed to have COVID-19, they will be immediately placed in the isoter location that has been provided to avoid the increasingly widespread spread of COVID-19.
Bobby Nasution will order the ranks of the Camat to collect data on confirmed citizens so that they are immediately placed in isoter locations.
"We will continue to improve and optimize this testing and tracing. We are also collaborating with the Kodim and Polres to carry out this testing and tracing so that it runs optimally, for people who are confirmed to have COVID-19, we will place them in isoter locations to avoid the spread of the virus and officers can easily monitor the patient's health,” explained Bobby Nasution.
To support the testing and tracing, Bobby Nasution said he would increase the number of officers and collaborate with various hospital labs in the city of Medan to speed up PCR test results.
"We will increase the number of officers, including collaborating with hospital labs in the city of Medan, so that the results of the community PCR test can be quickly known," added Bobby Nasution.
Meanwhile, regarding the COVID-19 vaccination that has been carried out, the Medan City Government has recorded that it has reached 17.7 percent. This number is outside of the number of vaccinations carried out by the TNI and Polri.
"Until the second dose, the number of vaccinations that we have carried out has reached 17.73 percent, that has not been added to the number of vaccinations carried out by the TNI and Polri, so later we will combine all the data to find out how much vaccination has achieved for the City of Medan," continued Bobby Nasution.
Meanwhile, Dandim 0201/BS, Colonel Inf Agus Setiadar said he was ready to support the testing and tracing carried out by the Medan City Government. He will also report to the Pangdam I/BB to request additional personnel from Putri Hijau Hospital and use the Putri Hijau Hospital lab as a place for PCR tests.
"We are ready to help the Medan City Government and we will report this to the Commander," said Agus Setiadar.
Meanwhile, the Medan Police Chief, Kombes Riko Sunarko, said that his party was continuing to take action against PPKM violators in Medan City. The police chief claimed that the prosecution carried out by the Medan Polrestabes was the highest in Indonesia.
"In one month we can take action up to five thousand people and that is the highest in Indonesia, which does not mean that the level of public awareness is low but because the activeness of members in the field is very high," he explained.
