Pretending To Participate In The Dzuhur Prayer, This Man Even Steals A Motorcycle In The Mosque Parking

JAKARTA - The modes of street crime are increasingly diverse in East Jakarta. This time, two robbers disguised themselves as mosque worshipers to steal motorbikes belonging to residents who were praying Dzuhur.

The action took place in the parking lot of the Al Muhajirin Mosque, Kalisari, Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta. The two perpetrators managed to steal the victim's motorbike. The theft was caught on CCTV cameras at the scene.

At first, from the CCTV video display, a perpetrator was seen walking around observing the situation. Then the perpetrator entered the parking lot of the mosque without realizing his action was caught on surveillance cameras.

When acting, the perpetrator is not alone. He was with a friend. One of the perpetrators was recorded wearing a cap entering the mosque and throwing away the victim's raincoat.

The perpetrators also took the ignition key of the victim's motorbike which was parked. While the other perpetrators waited on the motorbike while watching the situation.

Dewi Karmila, the victim who owns the motorbike, said that the incident was only discovered when she was about to take the motorbike. What a surprise when the victim saw his motorbike was gone.

"When I wanted to go home, the motorbike was gone, I just needed a raincoat, so I'm abrit," said Dewi to reporters at the location, Thursday, August 26.

According to Dewi, her motorbike disappeared in just a matter of minutes. The perpetrators managed to take the motorbike away to SMAN 98 East Jakarta.

"He disguised himself as a congregation, but he didn't have time to enter the mosque. He just walked back and forth to see if people were quiet or not," he said.

Dewi said the license plate of the perpetrator's vehicle was not visible and this made it difficult for the police to investigate the motorcycle theft case. In fact, Dewi has parked there since two years ago and has never been missing.

Dewi immediately reported this incident to the Pasar Rebo Police on Thursday afternoon at around 13.00 WIB.

The Head of Pasar Rebo Police, Kompol Marson Marbun, said that his party was still investigating reports of theft of motorbikes at the Al-Muhajirin Mosque, Kalisari Village, Pasar Rebo District, East Jakarta.

"Check first, whether the report has been submitted or not," said Kompol Marbun to reporters, Thursday, August 26.

Marbun said that his party would first check with the Criminal Investigation Unit regarding the victim's report.

"I'll check first," he said.

Meanwhile, according to victim Dewi Karmila Sari, theft of motorbikes at the Al Muhajirin Mosque, Kalisari Village, has occurred up to two times. The first case was the theft of a motorbike belonging to a mosque congregation who was praying Maghrib.

"But that happened two years ago, when there was no parking here, it disappeared right in front of the mosque," he said at the location, Thursday, August 26.

Dewi has reported the loss of a motorcycle to the Pasar Rebo Police. But until this moment the members of the Satreskrim Polsek Pasar Rebo have not conducted a crime scene.

"No one has come yet (processing the crime scene)," he said.
