Governor Ganjar's Order To ASN: Chili Prices Are Falling, I Ask Friends To Buy From Farmers
JAKARTA - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo asked the state civil apparatus (ASN) to buy chilies whose selling price in the market is dropping to Rp. 7,000 per kilogram.
"Today we all have to help farmers because the price of chili is falling. I ask my ASN friends to buy chilies from farmers, to help them," he said in Semarang, as reported by Antara, Thursday, August 26.
According to Ganjar, the act of mobilizing ASN to buy agricultural products when prices drop has often been done in Central Java, even the ASN in Central Java are used to it.
However, Ganjar believes that long-term action must be taken so that similar incidents do not drag on, so he asks all parties including Bank Indonesia to help.
"I see here from BI, I hope BI can also help overcome this problem because when it comes to agricultural commodities, many brokers are taking too much profit, this must be overcome," he said.
In addition to farmers, Ganjar also said that he had prepared various programs to help various parties affected by the pandemic, including SMEs, small and large industries to handling orphans.
The price of cayenne pepper at the farm level in a number of areas in Central Java in the past month has fallen so that farmers are threatened with losses.
Last July, the price of cayenne pepper reached Rp. 40,000 per kilogram, but gradually decreased, now the price at the farm level is only Rp. 5,500 to Rp. 7,000 per kilogram.
