Extortionist Contractors In Joglo Upset, Asks For IDR 50 Million To Be Given IDR 500 Thousand, Victim Threatened With Red Sticks
JAKARTA – The extortionist from a contractor in Joglo, Kembangan, has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kembangan Police, West Jakarta. The police revealed that the perpetrator, who claimed to be from the mass organization, had threatened to close the project if his request was not fulfilled.
The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kembangan Police, AKP Ferdo Alfianto, said the perpetrator with the initials DB was registered as a resident of Cimpaeun, Tapos. When the blackmail incident occurred, DB asked for Rp. 50 million rupiah.
However, according to AKP Ferdo, the contractor was only given Rp. 500 thousand. The perpetrator was upset because his request was not fulfilled. Therefore DB threatens with a stick wrapped in red cloth to scare her victim.
"Because his request was not fulfilled, the perpetrator forced him to carry a black wooden stick wrapped in a red cloth to scare the victim," he said.
Furthermore, Kanit ensured that the perpetrators were not members of mass organizations. He only sells that he is from a mass organization to scare the victims.
"The perpetrators used extortion while threatening to close the project activities," he said.
The perpetrator is subject to Article 368 of the Criminal Code with a prison sentence of more than 5 years.
