When The King Of Bait Backheel Madrid Praises Benzema

JAKARTA - Karim Benzema received high praise after his sensational assist gave birth to a victory for Real Madrid. The French player's backheel (heel) was completed perfectly by Casemiro against Espanyol on Sunday, June 28 evening.

Los Blancos played with confidence from the start of the kick-off whistle sounded. They came to the RCDE Stadium with a capital of a 2-2 draw between Barcelona and Celta Vigo the day before.

Casemiro did become the only goal scorer in last night's match to bring Madrid back to the top of La Liga with a two-point advantage over Barca. However, that goal in the 45th minute owed a huge debt to the genius of Benzema.

The former Lyon man has scored the 117th assist of his Madrid career. He did so with a heel kick over defender Bernardo Espinosa's feet to give Casemiro an easy finish.

Benzema's stunning heel touch was immediately compared to former Madrid great Guti. He is best known for his delicious heel assist against Deportivo La Coruna in 2010.

When a video clip of the two goals was shared on social media, Guti joined the conversation to praise his former team-mates.

Sharing a photo of his own assist, the 43-year-old tagged Benzema on Twitter and posted a string of clapping emojis.

Guti is one of the most classy players in La Liga history. He seemed to have eyes on the back of his head. His heel assist to Zinedine Zidane in the Madrid match against Sevilla in the 2005/06 season has also been a topic of discussion for footballers.

Unfortunately, the latest news from the man who was educated by the Real Madrid youth soccer academy is not very pleasant. He was recently sacked as coach of the Spanish League Division 2 club Almeria.

Guti was laid off from his job after Almeriensistas lost to Alcorcon 1-0 at home at the Estadio Mediterraneo.
