Election Of Deputy Governor Which Is Often Delayed By The Discussion Of The Regional Budget

JAKARTA - After the tough task of the DKI DPRD this year after ratifying the 2020 DKI Regional Budget draft, they are just waiting for the results of the evaluation of the Ministry of Home Affairs to establish a Regional Regulation (Perda) on APBD.

However, after this, the DKI parliament must catch up with their work that has dragged on for more than one year, namely the election of Deputy Governor of DKI to replace Sandiaga Uno. Deputy Chairperson of the DKI DPRD, Zita Anjani, promised that the DKI Deputy Governor's discussion would be continued in early 2020.

"From yesterday we had a really solid agenda. Never mind talking about the Deputy Governor, just go home late. God willing, after the Deputy Governor hit the hammer (RAPBD) at the beginning of the year," Zita told reporters, Thursday, December 12.

So far, the process of selecting candidates for Deputy Governor of DKI, which is still at a standstill, has made the Gerindra Party start to struggle. Because two candidates from PKS, namely the General Secretary of the DPW PKS DKI Agung Yulianto and former Deputy Mayor of Bekasi Ahmad Syaikhu have not been elected, it has prompted Gerindra to offer another name.

Of the four names submitted, three of them were party cadres, namely the Gerindra DPP Advisory Council Arnes Lukman, Gerindra Deputy Chairperson Ferry Juliantono, and Gerindra Secretary General Ahmad Riza Patria. The fourth person is the Regional Secretary of DKI Saefullah.

Therefore, starting next year, the DPRD leadership will urge PKS and Gerindra to carry out political communication in selecting a candidate for each party. Given that these two parties are the bearers of Anies and Sandiaga in the 2017 DKI Pilgub.

"Yes, (the Vice Governor candidate) is a combination of PKS and Gerindra)," he said.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the PKS Faction, Arifin, said that his party would not necessarily accept Gerindra's proposed candidates. They still hold the initial agreement that the Deputy Governor's seat quota will be handed over to PKS.

However, if the DPP PKS accepts the proposal of a candidate other than its party, the PKS faction in the DKI parliament will follow.

"The proposal from Gerindra is still being studied by the DPP. And they say we can reject all of these names, or the city accepts one of them. In what politics is not impossible," said Ariifin.

For information, the deputy governor election process has stalled in the ratification of the Jakarta Deputy Governor election rules and the formation of a voter committee (panlih) to select Deputy Governor candidates. These two things must be ratified at the DPRD Joint Leadership Meeting (Rapimgab).
