Armed Robbers Gasak 3 Kg Of Gold In Medan, Loss Of Shop Owners Estimated At IDR 4 Billion

MEDAN - A group of armed robbers robbed a gold shop at Simpang Limun Market, Medan. The robber took 3 kilograms of gold.

The owner of the gold shop, Kasmawati, told the chronology of the robbery. The robbery, according to him, took place quickly and took him by surprise.

"He (the perpetrator) ran, jumped open the safe, I was shocked," said Kasmawati, Thursday, August 26.

At the time of the robbery, the perpetrator who was holding a firearm held himself at gunpoint.

"He was holding a gun, I was pointed at me, ready to scream, he held it again," explained Kasmawati.

The robbers stole almost 3 kilograms of gold. Losses are estimated at up to IDR 4 billion.

“About 3 kilos of gold, opened the safe, opened the drawer. There is a lot of London (Gold) in the drawer, when the drawer is opened, it's around IDR 4 billion (estimated price, red)," he said.

Meanwhile, an eye witness, Sri Kendari, said the incident occurred at around 2:50 p.m. WIB, Thursday, August 26. There were 4 perpetrators wearing hats and masks.

"Two people used firearms," he said.

Sri said there had been a gunshot. The herd then broke into Aulia Chan's gold shop and threatened the shopkeeper.
