Bitcoin Is Said To Continue To Skyrocket As Long As The Fed Prints More Money
JAKARTA – The mayor of the United States, Scott Conger, said that the price of Bitcoin will continue to increase as long as the Fed continues to print large amounts of money. Conger, who is the mayor of Jackson, Tennesee, USA, openly alluded to the Fed's policy of printing money.
“As the Fed continues to print more USD, this (Bitcoin) chart will continue to rise. Bitcoin could be today, but it's definitely the monetary system of the future, and after 21 million (supply of Bitcoin), it doesn't exist anymore," said Mayor Scott Conger.
According to Bitcoin.com News, in April the mayor of Conger was reportedly exploring the conversion of payroll for city employees and Bitcoin mining to add BTC to the city's balance sheet.
He also announced in a Twitter tweet in July that the city of Jackson's blockchain task force was working to get the city to "accept property tax payments in Bitcoin and allow our employees to DCA (dollar cost averaging) in Bitcoin."
The mayor of Conger also touched on the possibility of inflation several times by saying: "Let's reject any inflation as well as an increasing carbon footprint."
Scott Conger is one of several mayors in the US who has been vocal in supporting Bitcoin adoption in his city. Apart from him, Mayor Francis Suarez is also trying to make Miami a Bitcoin hub.
Some time ago, the Mayor of Cool Valley, Jayson Stewart, was also trying to raise funds to distribute free Bitcoins to the residents of Cool Valley. Stewart reportedly plans to distribute as much as $1,000 in Bitcoin.
