5.8 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Tojo Una-Una, No Tsunami Potential
JAKARTA - An earthquake measuring 5.8 magnitude (M) rocked the Minahasa Strait, Tojo Una-Una Regency, Central Sulawesi on Thursday at around 09.14 WIB.
According to information from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) received in Jakarta, the epicenter of the earthquake was at 0.70 South Latitude and 121.51 East Longitude, 44 kilometers northwest of Tojo Una-Una with a depth of 10 kilometers.
The earthquake was felt in Ampana, Poso, Morowali, Toli-Tooli, East Luwu, Parigi Moutong and Buol.
The earthquake was informed that there was no potential for a tsunami.
